Guidelines for editing pages on the web site of MathFuzzLog.

Contents of the web site

The web site is intended to be a platform to share information and resources in the community of MathFuzzLog. Any content that a member of the group considers to be relevant to Mathematical Fuzzy Logic and useful for the community is welcome.


The main page contains links to the main sections of the page. Since it is crucial for the structure of the whole site it can only be edited by the administrators. However, the coordinators will be happy to receive any suggestion by members of the group proposing new sections or a different structure in the contents.

Currently, the main sections are the following:

  • Important definitions: Definitions of crucial concepts and notions of Mathematical Fuzzy Logic.
  • Journals and Book series: Journals and book series that have published works in Mathematical Fuzzy Logic.
  • Meetings and special sessions: Meetings about Mathematical Fuzzy Logic and related topics, and conferences including a special session devoted to some topic under the scope of the group.
  • Open problems: Important open problems in Mathematical Fuzzy Logic. Each open problem should have its own entry with a sufficiently detailed explanation to stimulate research in order to solve it.
  • Position offers: Position offers in universities and research institutes to teach or investigate on Mathematical Fuzzy Logic.
  • Preprints: Links to preprints written by members of the group.
  • Publications: List of publications on Mathematical Fuzzy Logic. Each publication should have its own entry with the corresponding bibliographical data and, if possible, a short abstract of its content.
  • Research centers: Departments in universities and research institutes where Mathematical Fuzzy Logic is developed.
  • Researchers: Researchers on Mathematical Fuzzy Logic and related topics. Each researcher should have his own entry with some biographical data and a link to his personal web page, when available.
  • Special issues and edited volumes: Calls for contributions in special issues and edited volumes devoted to Mathematical Fuzzy Logic or some of the topics under its scope.
  • Tools: Shared files and programs that can be useful for other members of the community.

Who can edit the site?

In order to prevent vandalism and intrusions by outside people, the entries on our web site can only be created and edited by registered users.

Who can be a registered user?

Each member of the MathFuzzLog can be (and should be) a registered user of our web site.

How can I become a member of MathFuzzLog?

If you are doing some research under the scope of the group and you wish to become a member, just write an application e-mail to mathfuzzlog(at)cs(dot)cas(dot)cz or, alternatively, create directly an account on this site. Your application will be evaluated by the coordinators of the group.

Rights of registered users

Registered users are strongly encouraged to make an intensive use of our resources by creating, reading and editing entries on the web site. Almost all entries can edited, except for a reduced number of fundamental pages that are protected and can only be edited by administrators. Of course, their content is not fixed forever; please write any suggestions about these pages on their corresponding discussion page.


How to create a new entry?

Just write in the search bar the title of the new entry you want to create and it will allow you to enter the contents.

Some rules

Some general rules and advises should be observed when editing the contents of the web site:

  • Try to keep the site homogeneous. Before creating or editing a new entry it is strongly advised to look at the structure of analogous entries and take it as a model. Use the existing categories to index the entries properly.
  • Do not write on category pages. They are intended to index entries belonging to the category and its content is automatically generated.
  • The entries are not papers signed by an author. They are written collaboratively by a community. The entries about important notions and results under the scope of Mathematical Fuzzy Logic, starting from the very definition of the discipline or other fundamental definitions (vagueness, fuzzyness, fuzzy logic, etc.), aim to reach a consensus in the community. Therefore, they should be seen as something dynamic (maybe never reaching an ultimate form) that can always be further revised by the members of the group.
  • Do not add any content protected by copyright. Provide bibliographical references and links to other web resources when you would like to refer to protected sources.
  • This is a page on Mathematical Fuzzy Logic. Add all relevant information about the topic, but only this. The page is not about all the topics the members of the MathFuzzLog might happen to be interested in. This restriction must be observed in all sections.

Example: creating your own entry and list of publications

When you become a registered user you might wish to provide some information about your research activities (and you are encouraged to do so). To this end you can create your own entry as a researcher. You can just open an already existing one and copy the content to your new article, by changing accordingly the content of the fields. If you also would like to provide the list of your (relevant to MathFuzzLog) publications, do not try to write them in the corresponding category page! Again, take an already existing entry for some publication as an example, copy it, write the name of your publication in the search bar, and you will create your new entry by filling it with the code of the previous one and changing accordingly the contents of the fields.


We want our community to be visible and taken into account among the whole scientific community. In particular, we consider that the entries where our group will reach a sufficient consensus should be public and influential. Since we are dealing with entries without personal author and copyright, the appropriate site to post such writings is the online free content encyclopedia Wikipedia.
